Network Element Testing
NET( Network Element Testing ) on FGW ( Femto Gateway ) for functional feature testing , Load bring up , in WCDMA Small ( Femto ) Cell Domain .(UMTS / Femto cell testing)
In this role he/She will be responsible for testing Femto Gateway in Femtocell Solution. The testing areas comprises of doing Network Element testing for it. This would include Functional, Regression, Call Processing & OAM feature testing, Capacity & Stability testing, System Upgrades & System Resiliency / Redundancy testing.
Load bring up will be part of the activity, which means team has to certify load prior to giving to NLT. Debugging of complex issues in the lab and simulating field issues will also be part of the testing.
Basic feature test planning, reviews of feature requirements, Customer documentation and provide comments to them will be part of the testing. Whole NET environment will be automated, so testers will have work towards enhancing the automation setup and making all testing 100% automated. Some automation related development skills are needed, which would be used for enhancing the test harness for more features and capability.
He/She should be very good in scripting (TCL) , which will enable them to make test cases on the simulator .
Qualification: B.E. in Electronics & Communications
He would be able to prepare test environment, including monitoring equipment for doing the feature tests.
Should be able to write scripts for his own features in an automated environment.
Should be able to conceptualize the test case around the given requirement / feature and convert them into suitable test plan and test cases .
Should be able to analyze, troubleshoot the problem found during test execution and isolate the problem. Create suitable CRs and follow-up with developers to get appropriate fixes. And update QC/DCT promptly.
Execute test cases and provide results/reports on regular basis.
Should adhere the timelines provided by the project .
Should automate the NET environment so as to run more number of test cases per day and have more coverage per feature.
Will be doing the load bring up of the FGW, before giving to NLT team. To do proper regression, load test before delivery.
Finishing the test plans as per dates planned. ( only if the release load was proper )
Minimum three years of experience in this area.
3-5 years of experience in 2.5G/3G/UMTS/Femtocell NET testing.
Strong programming knowledge required related to automation.
Strong on scripting language (TCL).
Using tools like Easy test, itest, Udragon, Aida, etc.
Knowledge of Scripting is essential.
Good knowledge for SCTP, Iuh, and RANAP protocols, C/C++.
Good working knowledge on Linux / UNIX / (Red Hat versions).
Basic IP domain knowledge is essential. Knowledge of TCP/IP, IPSec, and Radius would be advantage.
Good knowledge of Femtocell technology
Knowledge of test analysis tools like Nethawk, ethereal, QXDM, Tektronics G35, NSA, Nexus 8610, Ixia Catapult, etc.
General knowledge of 3G/UMTS specifications & protocols & E2E call processing.
General knowledge of NAS protocol layers, Call Control, Mobility Management & Radio Resource Management functions.
Good Analysis, Troubleshooting and problem Isolation skills
Validation of issues by referring the required Specifications.
Good understanding of Load Traffic Model for Stability / Capacity runs.
